Soul Searching

My latest piece of art is in line with my last surreal photography piece which focused heavily on hands and hair. I am still very interested in exploring the emotion evoked through hand gestures; emotions perceived without facial expression.

Sad blood drop….

Hi there everyone! I am posting my latest illustration of how blood moves through the heart to be oxygenated. I feel like this was one of the most difficult concepts for many people in my anatomy classes to grasp so I can only imagine how difficult it is for children or even those in high school. And so, I was motivated to create this little nugget:
I hope you find it a bit humorous because I certainly did.

Also, I have been REALLY trying hard to find a focus and have been trying to decipher whether it is ok to have goals or not. Which sounds silly, but I have a hard time finding meaning in having goals because in the end, I’m just going to be dead so I might as well enjoy myself rather than strive to make money (but then I need money to fulfill the things I love…..mind struggle over here).

And so, I tend to make a lot of lists and recently I have just been thinking about what I love and what are some very honest, self fulfilling, goals I might have. So far I love:

art (vector illustrations/photography and digital art/ whimsical)
helping others/teaching
TRAVELING
being outside (so much!)
green surroundings
health and fitness
philosophy
psychology(the brain, individual’s gestures, people watching..haha)
SCIENCE (the human body and how we think)

…….and so far, my solutions for how I can make a living and pursue these things are to :

create educational illustrations about science
create whimsical photographs through photography, compositry, and photo manipulation
motivate others through videos and workshops/ teaching
travel and create videos to allow others to feel like they are traveling as well (I have a dream to create a virtual vacation program where people can wear virtual frames and be immersed in a fake vacation)

and as far as goals:

pay off loans through using one of the above solutions

go on a year long travel journey to see the world and to offer free stock photography to people like myself who literally do not have a dime to spare but want to create wonderful artistic concepts

inspire those in other countries with less resources to be creative
