Well, I’M BACK!

This past week I have been on a bit of a vacay visiting friends and family in the midwest. Right before I had left, I ordered my postcards that I was telling you guys about and they were here when I got back! πŸ™‚
I’ve proclaimed today to be “Send Ten Monday”. I have sent out ten cards because I have experienced trying to create mailing lists all at once and, long story short, they take a long time so I figure that addressing ten at a time is very ‘low-stress’.
I ordered from Vistaprint and they are the oversized postcard with a glossy front. They are thick and are a good weight so I can definitely say that I am pleased.
Hopefully these will result in some new projects!
Stay tuned and subscribe, or like, or whatever if you are interested in the beginnings of my illustration journey!

P.S sorry for the poor photo quality! I took it with my ancient phone.

Out of the Blue

Good Monday Morning everyone!

So I’ve already gone on a run, fed my wonderful puppies (I actually make them meals…give me a break. I don’t have children haha) and had a great breakfast of my own πŸ™‚

brown rice

steamed broccoli

handful of spinach

1/4 cup of organic pasta sauce

= YUM!

I’ve been feeling so fatigued and tired lately for no obvious reason and as a result have been taking photos around town and around my house. Yesterday, I had an idea to make a symmetrical photo of myself and my hair turning into this dark waterfall….kindof hard to visualize unless you’re in my brain. BUT even though I did not create that photo, I created another photo that was derived from that idea and it actually turned out pretty cool.

Let me know what you think!

Sad blood drop….

Hi there everyone! I am posting my latest illustration of how blood moves through the heart to be oxygenated. I feel like this was one of the most difficult concepts for many people in my anatomy classes to grasp so I can only imagine how difficult it is for children or even those in high school. And so, I was motivated to create this little nugget:Blood through the heart
I hope you find it a bit humorous because I certainly did.

Also, I have been REALLY trying hard to find a focus and have been trying to decipher whether it is ok to have goals or not. Which sounds silly, but I have a hard time finding meaning in having goals because in the end, I’m just going to be dead so I might as well enjoy myself rather than strive to make money (but then I need money to fulfill the things I love…..mind struggle over here).

And so, I tend to make a lot of lists and recently I have just been thinking about what I love and what are some very honest, self fulfilling, goals I might have. So far I love:

art (vector illustrations/photography and digital art/ whimsical)
helping others/teaching
being outside (so much!)
green surroundings
health and fitness
psychology(the brain, individual’s gestures, people watching..haha)
SCIENCE (the human body and how we think)

…….and so far, my solutions for how I can make a living and pursue these things are to :

create educational illustrations about science
create whimsical photographs through photography, compositry, and photo manipulation
motivate others through videos and workshops/ teaching
travel and create videos to allow others to feel like they are traveling as well (I have a dream to create a virtual vacation program where people can wear virtual frames and be immersed in a fake vacation)

and as far as goals:

pay off loans through using one of the above solutions

go on a year long travel journey to see the world and to offer free stock photography to people like myself who literally do not have a dime to spare but want to create wonderful artistic concepts

inspire those in other countries with less resources to be creative
